The Great Educator Mentor Award is given to recognize an individual who makes a difference in the lives of the students of each school in the Westerville School District and/or the school district as a whole.
Who is a GEM in your school?
Community volunteers
Parents, Grandparents, friends & family who volunteer in our schools
Teachers, Principals, Secretaries, Nurses, Custodians, Aides -
any employee of Westerville City Schools

A nominee may include:
· Community Member &  Volunteers
· Parents, Grandparents, friends & family who volunteer in our schools
· Teachers, Principals, Secretaries, Nurses, Custodians, Aides - and any employee of Westerville City Schools
            Students are NOT eligible to receive the GEM Award.

There are many, many GEMs in your building. Take a moment to look around and take another moment to let them know you are grateful for all they do by writing a nomination.

2017-18 Scholarships: Live and Available on December 12, 2017

There will be a Parent/Student Scholarship Meeting held on December 12, 2017 at Westerville South at 6:30 pm. All applications are due no later than January 12, 2018.

Community Scholarships Information & Instructions can be found on the district’s website at

Be sure to answer all questions completely.  Applications and supplemental materials are to be returned to Guidance by January 12, 2018.
In the box titled Scholarship Information, you can download applications and view the Scholarship List available to Central H.S.

Please read the eligibility requirements for each scholarship. You may apply for as many community scholarships as you wish provided you meet the qualifications.
Completed applications and all supporting documents must be returned to the Guidance Office by January 12, 2018.

14th Annual Academic Awards

Westerville Central High School Warhawks Academic Boosters Presents: The 14th Annual Academic Awards on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017.

Please join us in honoring our students for outstanding academic achievement (all students earning a 3.7 and above) in 2016-2017 school year.  Students should arrive at 6:45 P.M. for check in; and, the awards programs begins at 7:30 P.M. in the Central High School Auditorium.

Refreshments will follow this very special occasion.

Free Math Seminars for ACT Prep

PrepAccelerator is pleased to announce 3 free 13-hour seminars for ACT prep in September and October.  These seminars are fast-paced and intensive, and most relevant for seniors making fall admission deadlines and for juniors gearing up for the state-sponsored ACT next March/April.  Advanced freshmen and sophomores are also invited to attend.

Ace The ACT (13+ hours) [Starts Sep 10]
  • Review and problem-solving
  • All 5 ACT sections covered in-depth
  • This seminar is a replica of the October seminar at Westerville Public Library below
  • September Sundays at Northwest Worthington Library
ACT Math Mastery (13+ hours) [Starts this Saturday, Sep 2]
  • Math review and problem-solving in a timed setting
  • Last offering of this seminar in 2017
  • September Saturdays at Grandview Heights Public Library
Ace The ACT (13+ hours) [Starts Oct 15]
  • Review and problem-solving
  • All 5 ACT sections covered in-depth
  • This seminar is a replica of the September seminar at Northwest Library above

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer.  As we prepare for the next school year, there is a need for volunteers to assist with class schedule pick-up.  Please consider working a shift (or two) and contact Kellie Reed by email if you are interested.

The following times are scheduled:.

Juniors & Seniors
Date: Wednesday, August 9th
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
          4:00 p.m. -   6:30 p.m.

Freshman & Sophomores
Date: Thursday, August 10th
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
          4:00 p.m. -   6:30 p.m.

Graduate's Name in Lights - Class of 2017

Family and friends of the Class of 2017 are invited to celebrate this special time by putting your graduate’s name up in lights! Have your special message displayed on the marquee located in front of Westerville Central High School for two weeks, beginning on Saturday, May 27th, 2017.

Simply complete this form (PDF below) and your payment of $10 (cash or checks made payable to Warhawk Academic Boosters) in an envelope delivered to the main office at Westerville Central High School by Wednesday, May 24th, 2017.

Official Nomination Instructions
Who Is Eligible?

Volunteers, Community Members, Parents, District & Building Teachers and Staff 
        Essentially, any adult who goes above and beyond and makes a positive impact on the lives of Westerville students!
Individuals can be nominated for their impact in one building or more than one building or across the entire school district
Anyone can submit a nomination - especially students!

Selection Criteria
The nomination must contain specific examples of how the nominee:
Has made a positive impact on students in the Westerville school district by going above and beyond the normal expectations of volunteer or staff                member job expectations
Has served students and made an impact during the specific time period of February 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017
For a District award,, examples must be provided of positive impact across the entire Westerville school district and/or at more than one building/area

Nominations are due no later than Friday, February 10, 2017. Please see form for submission details:

Key Dates:

Dec. 14th: Date the Scholarship listing packet will be available on the district website.
Jan. 13th: Date the applications need to be completed and turned in to the guidance office.

Don't miss this important opportunity to earn a scholarship to help fund your college tuition and books!
